The day before the first Prime Ministerial live television debate, I moderated a similar event for Alfred Dunhill between Lord Puttnam, who produced among other films, Chariots of Fire, and the award winning financial journalist, Neil Collins. The motion, proposed by Puttnam, and contested by Collins was "the script is mightier than the spreadsheet". This was convincingly carried. But Lord Puttnam did produce his Oscar as a prop.
