My book, You Bet - The Betfair Story: How two men changed the world of gambling, is officially published today by Harper Collins. A thank you to everyone there for dedication and support, and to my agent, Peter Straus, without whom, as they say. The aspect of the book about which I am most pleased? Now two years down the line and having lived with the narrative for that time, I still find the story most compelling with more to come as events unfold, which I hope means that relative newcomers will be drawn to what is an extraordinary story of our times, too. Also, the end product is pretty much what I envisaged back when contracts were exchanged. Except the jacket is red when I had always seen the cover as being blue. That said, I am colour blind. Actually, ahead of publicity commitments from Friday, today I am with Lois at playgroup in the morning and then in the park, now that the sandpit has been "mended" as she says. At some stage, I would expect there will be reason to visit a cafe (always a landmark moment) play with the football and, weather permitting, roll around on the ground with our legs in the air, a current favourite. Is this good work/life balance? It feels so. Especially the bit where I get to lie down.
